Off the Beaten Path

Well not really far off. I was on my way home from Charlotte last weekend. It was a bright, beautiful day when I see this on the horizon.





What IS that? I couldn't figure it out. Then as I drove closer I realized that the city of Gaffney is very clever in disguising their water tower.

A little further down the road I passed this charming old school house and I just had to get off the highway to get a closer look.

I just love old buildings! There were no signs indicating how old it was or why it had been moved to this location. Even Google came up empty.

The door was locked so I couldn't get inside but I was able to climb up and get a photo. It was just as it should be.
